This spoon is a great idea – it’s easier than bringing a jar and spoon with you when you’re out and about. However, I have two issues with this product:

    * One, the spoon “cover” only covers the top half of the spoon (and is often hard to snap on when you’ve got your hands full) – the underside of the spoon is exposed. So, I have to wrap the spoon in a paper towel or stick the whole piece in a sandwich baggie so that the spoon doesn’t get contaminated when in the diaper bag. This seems like such a simple thing, I don’t understand why they wouldn’t have made a full cap from the beginning.

    * Two, I’m not sure HOW you don’t contaminate the rest of the food inside the bulb. When you squeeze the bulb for more food, it naturally sucks back in so – wouldn’t you think that any food left on the spoon after it’s been in baby’s mouth (and there is quite a bit) would have the possibility of being sucked back into the holding bulb? I wouldn’t count on this thing not contaminating the rest of the food. If you’re going to use it for a one time feeding while out, then sure it’s a decent product. But, if you’re looking to use it to feed the same food over an extended period, I wouldn’t chance it. But, that’s me.

I’m giving it three stars because of the two issues above. If they made a full cap, I’d give it another star.

We have a couple of these spoons and use them all the time when we are traveling, eating out, at friends houses, etc. Much easier than feeding out of the jars!! Plus anything left over isn’t “contaminated”. These make a great baby gift for people who already have older children – it’s not something they already have but often say they wish they had with their first. The only changes I think Boon should make is adding a flat spot (or a little stand or something) so that you can set the spoon down on a table without it rolling. Also, I wouldn’t mind an all-clear spoon so that you can see easier how much food is remaining. This spoon is best for the smoother stage 1 and 2 foods. Once you get to stage 3 obviously the foods for too think/chunky. Overall this is a fabulous idea and a great product!

I liked the idea of this spoon, but it was a mess to use! The food sprays all over when you squeeze it. And it’s very hard to clean well. It looks great though, love the colors.

This spoon is really good, you save time and there is no mess. It’s very practical when you are not at home. My baby (7 months) loves it!

The Boon Spoon is absolutely the BEST for starting out baby with cereal/solids! It holds the food inside the main compartment until you want to squeeze it out onto the spoon (doesn’t leak it out like others)!
